How long does a typical street art workshop last?

Most festival sessions last between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This gives us plenty of time to cover the basics of spray painting, practice your 'handstyle', and complete a collaborative mural. Since it's a festival environment, we keep the energy high and the pace moving so you can enjoy the rest of the event festivities afterwards. We are flexible and can adapt the duration to fit the festival's specific schedule!

Do I need any previous art experience to participate?

Absolutely not! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from people who can't draw a stick figure to seasoned illustrators. Our professional artists guide you through every step, starting with basic lines and shapes. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can create something impressive once you learn the right techniques. It's all about having fun and expressing yourself, not about being a master painter on day one.

Is it safe and what gear do you provide?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. We use low-pressure spray cans which are easier to control and produce less fumes. All workshops are supervised by experienced professionals who ensure that everyone follows safety protocols while having a blast. We make sure the environment is well-ventilated and secure for all participants.

What should I wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on—just in case! While we provide protective overalls, spray paint has a way of finding its way onto sleeves or sneakers. If it's a sunny day in Craiova, don't forget your sunglasses and some sunscreen, as we'll likely be working outdoors to get that authentic street art vibe.

Are the workshops suitable for children?

Yes, we love making festivals more inclusive! We have specific techniques and water-based paints available for younger creators. Generally, we recommend ages 6 and up for the best experience. For the teenagers and adults, we use standard professional gear. It’s a fantastic way for families to bond over a shared creative project while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of a local Craiova event.

What happens if it rains during the festival?

Rain doesn't have to stop the fun! If the weather looks dodgy, we usually arrange for a covered area or a large marquee. Because we use professional-grade paint, it dries quickly, but we always prefer a dry surface. If the weather is truly extreme, we'll work with the festival organisers to reschedule or move to an indoor location. We always have a backup plan to ensure the art goes on!

Can we choose the theme or what we paint?

We are totally flexible! We can focus on a massive collaborative mural where everyone adds a piece, or we can set up individual canvases so everyone takes home their own masterpiece. For festivals, we often recommend a mix: a large 'live art' wall that grows throughout the day, and smaller stations for quick 'dip-in' sessions. Tell us your vision, and we’ll make it happen!

Local culture

Craiova is a city where tradition meets a burgeoning modern pulse. While it's famous for its stunning Botanical Garden and the historic Nicolae Romanescu Park, the city's walls are beginning to tell a newer story. In recent years, local initiatives have started embracing urban art, turning blank concrete into stories of Romanian heritage and modern identity. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Craiova is home to one of the most beautiful parks in Europe? Imagine bringing that natural inspiration to the spray can! The city's youthful energy, driven by its large university population, makes it the perfect canvas for a street art revolution. When we set up at a festival here, the 'Bănia' spirit truly shines through in every tag and mural created.
