Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every participant. Our professional artists lead the session with a comprehensive safety briefing, ensuring everyone knows how to handle the spray cans properly. Because we host these youth projects in Ventspils in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially prepared spaces, you can enjoy the creative buzz without any worries about health or safety.

Do we need any previous art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Whether you have never touched a spray can before or you’re already sketching in your notebook, our artists will guide you step-by-step. We start with the basics of 'can control' and lines before moving on to more complex filling and outlining. By the end of the day, every participant will have created something they are genuinely proud of.

What materials do you provide for the youth project?

Everything you need is included in the package. We provide a wide rainbow of professional spray paint colours, high-quality caps (nozzles), protective gear, and the 'canvas'—which could be a temporary wall, boards, or even a legal local mural space. We suggest that participants wear old clothes and shoes just in case, but our protective suits do a great job of keeping the paint on the wall and off your threads!

How long does a typical graffiti session last?

A typical youth project workshop in Ventspils lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a cool introduction to street art history, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a large-scale group masterpiece. We can also adjust the timing to fit into a wider youth summit or festival schedule if you have specific time constraints.

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

We are very flexible with group sizes! For youth projects, we usually work with groups of 10 to 30 people per artist to ensure everyone gets enough hands-on time and guidance. If you have a much larger group—say 100+ people—don't sweat it. We have a backup pool of talented artists we can bring in to make sure the energy stays high and everyone gets to spray.

How does the booking and payment process work?

We understand that organizing youth events involves budget approvals. That’s why we don't require any upfront payment to secure your date. You can book the workshop and pay after the event has successfully taken place. We also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee—if the group doesn't have a blast and learn something new, we’ll work with you to make it right. Fun and creativity are guaranteed!

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Ventspils is known for its breezy coastal weather, but we always have a Plan B. If the forecast looks rainy, we can often move the workshop to a sheltered outdoor area or an indoor space with proper ventilation and floor protection. If the weather is truly extreme, we can reschedule the event for a better day. Our goal is to ensure the project goes ahead smoothly regardless of the Latvian clouds!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth initiative? Beyond the "cool factor," street art is a powerful tool for social development and personal growth. Here is why the Ventspils youth love what we do:

🔥 Confidence boost: Seeing a massive piece of art come to life from your own hands builds incredible self-esteem.
🤝 Teamwork in action: Youth must communicate and collaborate to ensure their individual pieces fit into a cohesive mural.
🎨 Creative outlet: It provides a unique, non-traditional way for teens to express their emotions and local pride.
🚀 Skill building: Participants learn technical skills, from colour theory to fine motor control with the spray can.
🌟 Engagement: Traditional workshops can be boring—graffiti is high-energy and keeps everyone focused from start to finish.
🏆 Professional guidance: Our artists aren't just painters; they are mentors who love sharing their passion with the next generation.

Step by step

The warm-up: We kick things off with a high-energy intro about the history of street art and the difference between tagging and masterpieces.
Sketching the vision: Participants grab paper and pencils to brainstorm their designs, focusing on themes that matter to Ventspils youth.
Safety first: Everyone gets suited up in protective gear while our pros demonstrate the 'dos and don'ts' of using professional aerosol cans.
Mastering the nozzle: Youth learn basic techniques like 'fading', 'outlining', and 'dotting' on a practice surface to build their confidence.
The outline: We move to the main surface where the 'skeleton' of the mural is created, often as a collaborative group effort.
Filling with colour: This is the fun part! The group works together to fill in the designs with vibrant colours and bold gradients.
The final highlights: Our artists show how to add 'low-lights' and 'high-lights' to make the artwork pop and look 3D.
The big reveal: We step back, peel off any masking tape, and admire the finished mural—perfect for a group photo op!
Tidying up: We ensure the site is left spotless, leaving only the incredible new artwork behind for the community to enjoy.

Local culture

Ventspils is a city that already prizes public art—from the famous cow sculptures to the beautiful floral arrangements. By bringing a graffiti youth project here, we are adding a modern, urban layer to the city's rich visual identity. We love working near the Baltic shore where the sea breeze keeps the creative ideas flowing! The local youth scene in Ventspils is vibrant and ready for new challenges, making it the perfect location for a collaborative mural project. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Ventspils is often called the "Cow Capital" of Latvia? During our workshops, we've seen some pretty amazing street-art interpretations of the city's iconic cows! 🐄🎨

While we are busy in Ventspils, we also bring our spray cans to other Latvian hubs like Riga, Daugavpils, Liepaja, and Jelgava. No matter where you are, we bring the heat!
