How long does a typical youth graffiti workshop last?

Most of our youth projects in Wexford take between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives the group enough time to learn the basics, practice their 'can control', and execute a final masterpiece. If you are planning a larger community mural over several days, we can certainly accommodate that too! Just let us know your timeline, and we will make it work.

Is the workshop safe for teenagers?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every participant. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups and ensure everyone uses the spray cans correctly. We also use low-odour, high-quality paints wherever possible to ensure a comfortable environment for the young artists while they work.

Do we need an outdoor space for the event?

Ideally, yes! We love working outdoors where the ventilation is natural and the vibes are high. However, we know the Wexford weather can be unpredictable. We have portable setups and can work in well-ventilated indoor spaces or under marquees if needed. We always have a backup plan so the creative energy doesn't get rained out!

Do the kids need to have prior art skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the basics of how to hold a can and move up to more complex techniques. Our artists are there to guide Every person, regardless of their natural 'artistic' ability. It’s all about building confidence and having a laugh while learning something totally new.

What is the recommended age for participants?

Our standard workshops are perfect for young people aged 10 and up. This age group usually has the hand strength to operate the spray cans and the focus to follow the safety instructions. For younger groups, we can adapt the program using water-based markers or stencils to keep it inclusive and fun for everyone involved.

What materials are included in the price?

We provide everything! Your booking includes all premium spray paint, caps, safety gear (masks, gloves, suits), and the surfaces to paint on. Whether we are painting a temporary wooden wall, canvases for the kids to take home, or a permanent community mural, we bring the entire studio to your location in Wexford.

Can you host the workshop at our youth centre?

We are incredibly flexible. We can come to your youth club, school grounds, or a local park in Wexford. If you don't have a venue, let us know! We have experience working with local councils and can often help find a suitable spot or bring our mobile graffiti walls to a location that suits your group best.

Step by step

Introduction & safety: We start with a quick meet-and-greet and a vital safety briefing. Everyone gets geared up in their protective suits and masks.
The art of the 'tag': We dive into the history of street art and teach the basics of lettering and personal signatures.
Can control 101: Participants learn how to handle the spray cans, including how different nozzle 'caps' change the width of the lines.
Sketching the concept: The group works together or individually to sketch out their design on paper before hitting the wall.
Filling and fading: Now for the colour! We teach techniques like 'filling' shapes and creating smooth gradients or 'fades'.
Outlining & highlights: This is where the magic happens. We add sharp outlines and highlights to make the artwork pop.
Final touches: Our pro artists help the kids refine their work, adding those tiny details that make a piece look professional.
The big reveal: We take group photos and celebrate the finished project. It’s a massive confidence booster for everyone involved!

Local culture

Wexford has always been a hub of culture, from the world-renowned Opera House to the vibrant street life during the Spiegeltent festival. While we're famous for our strawberries and stunning coastline, there's a growing appetite for modern, urban expression in the Model County. We love bringing our workshops to Wexford because the local youth have such a unique perspective, blending traditional Irish heritage with modern street styles. 🔥

Fun fact: Did you know Wexford's medieval streets provide the perfect backdrop for storytelling? We often see young artists incorporating local legends or maritime themes into their graffiti pieces, bridging the gap between the town's history and its future!
