Do the kids need to be good at drawing to join in?

Absolutely! No prior artistic experience is needed to have a brilliant time. Our professional graffiti artists are experts at guiding beginners, breaking down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We focus on the process and the fun of self-expression, ensuring every participant leaves feeling proud of what they've created. It’s all about getting stuck in and trying something new in a supportive environment.

Is the workshop safe for teenagers?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality masks, gloves, and overalls to keep clothes clean. Our spray paints are professional-grade but used under strict supervision in well-ventilated outdoor areas or suitable indoor spaces. Our artists are highly experienced in managing youth groups, ensuring a respectful, controlled, and completely safe environment for everyone involved throughout the entire session.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

A standard youth project workshop in Drogheda usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, sketching, practicing spray techniques, and completing a final masterpiece. If you have specific time constraints or want a more intensive full-day programme, we can easily customise the duration to fit your group’s schedule and goals. just let us know what works best for you!

Where in Drogheda do the workshops take place?

We are totally flexible! We can host the workshop at your youth club, school grounds, or a local community centre in Drogheda. If you don't have a suitable outdoor space, don't worry—we can often arrange a location or use specialized materials suitable for certain indoor settings. We bring all the equipment to you, making it as easy as possible to get the project started.

What is the ideal group size for a youth project?

We believe in "the more the merrier," but we also want to ensure everyone gets quality time with the artist. Generally, we work with groups starting from 10 participants up to larger groups of 50 or more. For very large youth organisations, we can bring along extra backup artists to make sure the session stays interactive, safe, and fun for every single person involved.

What do the participants actually get to paint on?

For youth projects, we often work on large shared murals or individual wooden boards/canvases that participants can take home. We find that a mix of both works best—collaborating on a large piece for the youth centre wall fosters teamwork, while individual canvases allow for personal expression. We’ll discuss the best format for your specific goals during the booking process to ensure maximum impact.

How do we book and is there an upfront payment?

Booking is simple and stress-free! You can start by using our online Cost Calculator or Tag Creator to get some inspiration. Once you're ready, just send us a request through our contact form. We don’t require upfront payments—you only pay after the workshop is successfully completed. We also have backup artists ready to go, so you never have to worry about last-minute cancellations.

Total Inclusivity: You don't need to be an "artist" to enjoy this. It levels the playing field for everyone involved. 💪
Boosts Confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece come to life gives young people a massive sense of achievement. 🏆
Safe & Professional: We use top-tier safety gear and expert facilitators who know how to keep things fun but controlled.
Zero Financial Risk: With no upfront payment and "pay after" peace of mind, it’s a stress-free choice for organisers.
Teamwork in Action: Collaborative murals teach communication and cooperation in a way that feels like play. 🤝
Creative Expression: It provides a healthy, legal outlet for urban energy and individual storytelling. 🎤

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We kick things off with a brief history of street art and a look at different styles to get the creative juices flowing.
Safety first: Every participant gets kitted out with gloves, masks, and protective gear. We explain how to use the equipment safely and respectfully.
Mastering the nozzle: Our artists demonstrate basic spray techniques, from "fats" to "skinnies," letting everyone practice their first lines on a test wall.
Sketching the vision: Participants brainstorm their designs on paper, focusing on tags, throw-ups, or community-themed murals.
Outline & fill: The real fun begins! We start scaling up the sketches onto the final surface, filling in vibrant colours and bold shapes.
Cutting & detailing: We teach the group how to sharpen their edges and add those crisp details that make graffiti pop.
The finishing touches: Adding highlights and shadows to give the artwork depth and that professional "3D" street art look.
Group gallery: We wrap up with a photoshoot of the final masterpiece, celebrating the hard work and talent of the Drogheda youth.

Local culture

Drogheda has always been a town with a deep appreciation for the arts, from its ancient history to its modern-day creative scene. While the town is famous for its historic gates and stunning viaduct, there is a pulse of modern urban culture growing in the lanes and community hubs. Our workshops tap into that local energy, giving young people a voice in a town that’s constantly evolving. 🇮🇪

Fun Fact: Did you know that Drogheda is one of the oldest towns in Ireland? While the walls of the Old Abbey have stood for centuries, we're helping the next generation "build" their own vibrant walls using modern-day tools—spray cans!

Whether we're setting up near the banks of the River Boyne or in a local community hall, the vibe in "The Drawda" is always electric when the spray cans come out. We love seeing how the local youngsters incorporate Irish culture and their own unique Drogheda identity into their graffiti tags!
