How it works

  1. Introduction & inspiration: Meet your pro artist and get a quick crash course on the history of Luxembourg's street art scene.
  2. Gear up: Put on your protective overalls, gloves, and masks. Safety first, style second!
  3. Sketching the vision: Grab a marker and map out your design on the board or canvas, learning about composition and lettering.
  4. First lines: Learn 'can control'—how to hold the spray can, switch nozzles (caps), and manage pressure for thin or thick lines.
  5. Filling & fading: Master the art of the fill and experiment with gradients to create that iconic 3D graffiti look.
  6. The outline (The "Powerline"): Sharpen your piece with a final outline that makes the colours pop against the background.
  7. Detailing & highlights: Add those final "shines" and "flares" that turn a simple sketch into a professional-looking piece of art.
  8. Group mural finale: Work together with your fellow students to combine your styles into one massive, cohesive masterpiece.
  9. Photos & cleanup: Snap some epic photos for the 'gram before we handle the cleanup and pack away the mobile walls.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely! Most of our university participants have never held a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the basics—nozzle control, distance, and pressure—ensuring everyone feels confident. You'll move from shaky lines to impressive pieces in just one session. We provide all the gear and guidance, so the only thing you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a bit of a creative spark!

Is the paint safe and do we get messy?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and professional-grade masks to ensure no one inhales fumes or gets paint on their favourite hoodie. We recommend wearing old shoes just in case, but otherwise, our setup is designed to keep the experience clean, safe, and professional while you unleash your inner street artist in the heart of Luxembourg.

Where in Luxembourg City does the workshop take place?

We are totally flexible! We can host the workshop at a dedicated street art spot in Luxembourg City, or if your university campus has a suitable outdoor area, we can come to you. We use mobile graffiti walls to ensure we leave the campus exactly as we found it—just with a lot of happy students and perhaps some new canvas masterpieces to display!

How long does a typical session last?

A standard university workshop lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a large-scale collective mural or individual canvases. We can also tailor the timing to fit into a specific student Union event or Fresher’s Week schedule.

What is the ideal group size for a student event?

Most of our university workshops are for groups of 10 to 50+ students. For larger cohorts, we simply bring in more professional backup artists to ensure everyone gets hands-on time and personal coaching. Whether it's a small society social or a massive campus-wide festival, we have the logistics and the team to scale up and make it happen.

How far in advance should our student association book?

We suggest booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance, especially during busy periods like the start of the autumn semester or spring exam breaks. However, thanks to our network of backup artists, we can often accommodate last-minute requests. If you have a specific date in mind, it's best to get a quote quickly to lock in your slot!

Is this good for student team building and ice-breaking?

Definitely! Graffiti is a fantastic icebreaker. It levels the playing field because everyone is learning a new skill together. We often structure university sessions as collaborative projects where groups must communicate and work together to finish a large mural. It’s a brilliant way to build community spirit, reduce stress, and get students talking outside of the lecture theatre.
