Is the graffiti workshop safe for primary school children?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every student. We use low-pressure spray cans that are easier for smaller hands to control, and our professional artists provide constant supervision. We ensure the workshop takes place in a well-ventilated outdoor area or a specifically designated indoor space to keep the air fresh and the kids safe while they create their masterpieces.

Does this encourage illegal graffiti or vandalism?

Absolutely not! While we teach the techniques used by street artists, we place a heavy emphasis on the 'Street Art Code.' We discuss the difference between illegal vandalism and commissioned public art. Our goal is to provide a legal, creative outlet for their energy, teaching them to respect public property while expressing their own unique identity through art. It’s about building character as much as it is about painting.

How long does a typical school session last?

Our standard primary school workshops in Kaunas usually last between 1.5 to 2 hours. This is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy levels and focus without the younger children getting tired. We can adjust the timing to fit into your school’s specific timetable, ensuring we wrap up in time for the next lesson or the school bus. We handle the setup and cleanup so you don't have to!

What materials do we need to provide?

We bring everything! Graffitifun provides all the professional spray paint, a wide variety of caps for different line thicknesses, protective gear, and the surfaces to paint on (usually large wooden panels or individual canvases). All you need to provide is a flat outdoor space and a group of excited students ready to dive into the world of colour. We even take care of the disposal of empty cans afterwards.

Do the students need prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Our professional graffiti artists are experts at breaking down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Whether a child is naturally artistic or hasn't picked up a paintbrush before, they will finish the session with something they are proud of. It’s all about the process, the fun, and discovering a new way to express themselves.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

We are flexible! If the weather takes a turn, we can often move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or an indoor space with professional-grade ventilation and floor protection. Alternatively, we can reschedule to a better day. Because we have multiple backup artists available in Lithuania, we are very reliable and rarely have to cancel. We’ll work closely with your school to ensure the event happens smoothly.

How much does a primary school workshop cost?

The cost generally ranges between €18 and €38 per student. This variation depends on the total number of children participating, the location within Kaunas, and whether you want individual canvases for students to take home or a large communal mural for the school wall. Because every school has different needs, we recommend requesting a custom quote so we can give you the most accurate price for your specific event.

The experience

Why bring a Graffitifun workshop to your primary school in Kaunas? Because it’s way more than just "painting on walls"—it’s a massive boost for student confidence and teamwork! 🎨

Boosts creative confidence: Even kids who think they "can't draw" find success with graffiti techniques, helping them overcome artistic anxiety. 🚀
Team building: Our mural projects require students to collaborate and communicate to create one big, beautiful piece of art together. 🔥
Physical coordination: Using a spray can develops fine motor skills and spatial awareness in a way traditional brushes don't. ✨
Legal & responsible: We teach children the difference between art and vandalism, instilling respect for their local Kaunas environment. 🏆
Zero stress for teachers: We handle everything from setup to cleanup. You just sit back and watch the magic happen! 🎉
Unique memories: It’s a day the children (and staff!) will be talking about for the rest of the school year. 🎤

Step by step

Introduction & safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy intro, introducing our artists and explaining how to use the equipment safely while getting suited up in protective gear.
The Street Art Code: We have a quick, interactive chat about the history of graffiti and the importance of legal art versus vandalism.
Mastering the can: Students learn the basics of 'can control'—how to hold the spray can, how far to stand from the wall, and how to create different line widths.
Sketching the vision: Using paper and markers, the kids plan out their design or 'tag', focusing on shapes and colour combinations.
First strokes: It’s time to hit the wall! Guided by our pros, students start applying their base colours and learning how to fill large areas smoothly.
Adding the 'pop': We teach them techniques like fading, highlighting, and outlining to make their artwork look three-dimensional and professional.
Stencil fun: For younger primary groups, we introduce custom stencils to help them achieve sharp, impressive details they’ll be proud of.
The final reveal: We step back to admire the collective masterpiece or individual works, taking photos of the proud young artists with their creations.
Cleanup & wrap-up: We handle the pack-down, leaving the school grounds exactly as we found them, except for the amazing new art!

Local culture

Kaunas isn't just Lithuania's second city; it’s a living, breathing canvas! As holders of the UNESCO City of Design title, Kaunas has a rich history of celebrating visual expression. From the famous "Wise Old Man" mural to the hidden gems in the Yard Gallery (Kiemo galerija), the city is packed with inspiration for young artists. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, encouraging students to look at their city with fresh eyes. We often reference the incredible local street art scene to show kids how their creativity can transform a community.

Fun Fact: Did you know Kaunas hosts the "Nykoka" street art festival? The city is famous for its massive professional murals that have turned boring grey Soviet-era buildings into world-class art pieces!
