Do we need any previous artistic experience?

Absolutely! Most of our team building participants in Funchal have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the basics, teaching you how to control the nozzle and manage pressure. You'll move from simple lines to complex fills and outlines in no time. We focus on a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where experimentation is encouraged and 'mistakes' often turn into the best parts of the piece.

Is the paint safe and what protective gear is provided?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality FFP2 masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to keep your clothes clean. We use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier to handle and produce less fumes. Additionally, we predominantly host our Funchal workshops in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large industrial halls to ensure everyone breathes easy while they create their masterpiece.

What is the maximum group size for a corporate event?

For our Funchal team building events, we can accommodate groups from 10 people up to 100+. For very large corporate groups, we split the team into smaller 'crews' that work on different sections of a massive mural. This ensures everyone stays active and engaged. If you have a specific group size in mind, just let us know and we will scale the artist team accordingly.

Where in Funchal do the workshops take place?

We are flexible! We have several stunning outdoor locations around Funchal that offer great inspiration, but we can also come to your office or a rented event space if it has adequate ventilation and outdoor access. If you're staying at a specific resort on the island, we can often coordinate with the venue to set up our mobile graffiti walls right on-site for ultimate convenience.

Can we keep the artwork we create?

Yes! One of the most popular options for team building is creating a collaborative piece on stretched canvases or large wooden panels. Once the paint is dry, you can take these back to your office. It serves as a permanent, colourful reminder of your team's creativity and the shared experience in Madeira. We can even arrange for the finished artwork to be delivered to your workplace.

What happens if an artist is sick or unavailable?

In the rare event that one of our lead artists is unavailable, Graffitifun has a deep pool of backup professional artists ready to step in. We pride ourselves on our reliability and 'the show must go on' attitude. You won't have to worry about last-minute cancellations; we make sure your Funchal team building event goes off without a hitch.

How far in advance should we book our Funchal session?

While we recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date, especially during the busy summer and holiday seasons in Madeira, we can sometimes accommodate last-minute requests. If you have a sudden opening in your corporate itinerary, give us a shout and we’ll do our best to squeeze you in and get the cans rattling!

Boost Morale: Nothing says "we're a team" like creating a 5-metre long masterpiece together.
Unleash Creativity: Break through mental blocks and encourage out-of-the-box thinking in a vibrant environment.

Expert Mentorship: Our artists aren't just talented; they are great teachers who know how to engage a crowd.
Zero Pressure: We focus on the process and the fun, ensuring everyone feels like a pro by the end of the day.
Lasting Memories: You'll be talking about that 'one time we tagged a wall in Madeira' for years to come!

Step by step

Safety first: Suit up in protective overalls, masks, and gloves to keep the vibe clean and safe.
Can control: Learn the 'anatomy' of a spray can and practice basic techniques like dots and lines.
Sketching the vision: Work together to brainstorm symbols or words that represent your team's culture.
The first layer: Start filling in the large blocks of colour on your group mural or individual canvases.
Outlining & details: The pros show you how to add those sharp edges and funky details that make the art pop.
Shadows & highlights: Learn the tricks of the trade to give your graffiti a 3D effect and professional finish.
The big reveal: Step back, drop the cans, and admire the collective masterpiece you've built as a team.

Local culture

Funchal is a city that breathes art, from the famous painted doors of Rua de Santa Maria in the Old Town to the modern murals popping up in the industrial corners of the harbour. The island's dramatic volcanic backdrop and lush greenery provide an incredible natural canvas that has inspired artists for centuries. Our workshops tap into this local 'Arte de Portas Abertas' spirit, encouraging your team to open doors to new ways of thinking. 🌺

Fun Fact: While Funchal is famous for its traditional embroidery and wickerwork, the street art scene is rapidly growing, with the city hosting regular urban art initiatives that transform grey walls into stories of Madeiran culture. Your team building event becomes a part of this evolving creative landscape!
