Is the graffiti workshop safe for young teenagers?

Absolutely! Our graffiti workshops in Maldonado are designed with safety as the number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks and gloves, and we only use low-pressure spray cans that are easier for younger people to control. Our professional artists supervise the entire session, ensuring everyone follows safety protocols while having a blast expressing their creativity in a controlled, legal environment.

What should the participants wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing 'paint clothes'—things you don't mind getting a bit of colour on! While we provide protective overalls and gloves, spray paint can sometimes find a way onto shoes or sleeves. It's best to wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and older clothing so you can focus entirely on your masterpiece without worrying about a stray drip of paint.

Do they need any prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our youth projects are perfect for absolute beginners. Our expert artists start with the basics, teaching everyone how to hold the can and create simple lines before moving on to more complex techniques. Whether they think they have zero artistic talent or they're already sketching in notebooks, we'll make sure they leave feeling like a pro.

Where do these youth projects usually take place?

We are very flexible with locations! We can host the project at your youth centre, school grounds, or a local community space in Maldonado. If you don't have a specific venue in mind, we can help arrange a suitable outdoor spot or a legal graffiti wall. As long as there is good ventilation (or we are outside), we can make it work!

How long does a typical session last?

A typical youth project session lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives the group enough time to learn the history of street art, practice their techniques on plastic film or boards, and then collaborate on a final large-scale mural. If you have a specific schedule or a full-day event planned, we can easily adapt the timing to suit your needs.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

We believe in a 'fun-first' approach! If for any reason the group isn't vibing with the activity, our artists are trained to pivot and change the energy. However, with the music pumping and the paint flowing, we find that engagement is usually 100%. We also offer a 100% satisfaction focus to ensure your youth group gets the most out of their creative day.

Expert guidance: Our artists aren't just talented; they are amazing mentors who know how to engage with younger audiences. 🎤
All-inclusive gear: We provide everything from the premium spray cans to the safety masks—you just bring the energy! 🎒

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We kickoff with a brief history of street art and a look at different styles to get the creative juices flowing.
Safety briefing: Everyone gets kitted out in protective gear and learns the golden rules of using spray cans safely.
Mastering the nozzle: Our artists demonstrate how to control pressure, distance, and angle to create different lines and effects.
Sketching the vision: The group works together to sketch out their ideas on paper before we move to the big wall.
The first layer: Participants start applying the base colours, learning how to fill large areas smoothly.
Detailing & outlining: This is where the magic happens! We teach the 'cut-in' technique to make those lines crisp and sharp.
Shadows & highlights: We add 3D effects and highlights to give the artwork depth and that professional 'pop'.
The final reveal: The group steps back to admire their collective masterpiece and snap some epic photos for the 'gram.
Tidying up: We pack up all materials, leaving the site clean and the participants with a huge sense of achievement.

Local culture

Maldonado is a city that bridges the gap between historical charm and the modern, high-energy vibes of the nearby Atlantic coast. In recent years, the street art scene in Uruguay has exploded, and Maldonado is no exception. From the hidden gems in the city centre to the suburban walls, urban art is becoming a key part of the local identity. By bringing a youth project here, you're tapping into a cultural movement that resonates deeply with the local 'Gente'.

Fun fact: Did you know that Uruguay has some of the most liberal street art laws in South America? This has turned cities like Maldonado into a giant canvas for world-class artists! 🇺🇾

Our workshops respect the local surroundings while teaching youngsters the difference between graffiti as art and simple vandalism. It's about contributing something beautiful to the community and feeling a sense of local pride. 🌊
