Do our leaders need any prior artistic experience?

Absolutely not! Our Dortmund leadership workshops are designed for everyone, from stick-figure doodlers to secret Picassos. Our professional artists guide you through basic spray-can techniques before moving on to the leadership exercises. The focus isn't on creating a gallery masterpiece, but on using the creative process to explore team dynamics, communication, and decisive action in a fun, supportive environment.

How long does a typical leadership workshop last?

A standard leadership graffiti session in Dortmund typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This includes a safety briefing, technique practice, the collaborative planning phase, and the final execution of your team mural. We can also provide extended half-day or full-day sessions if you want to dive deeper into specific management modules or combine the workshop with a strategy meeting.

What should we wear and what equipment is provided?

Safety and cleanliness are our priorities. We provide high-quality overall suits, gloves, and professional-grade masks for every participant. While we take every precaution to protect your clothing, we always recommend wearing comfortable, 'sensible' shoes and clothes you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on. We provide all the specialized equipment needed for a safe, professional experience.

Can you host the workshop at our Dortmund office?

Flexibility is key! We have several vibrant street art locations and 'Hall of Fame' spots around Dortmund where we can host your group. However, if you have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated indoor area at your office, we can often bring the workshop to you. We use canvases or mobile walls to ensure your property remains exactly as it was.

How does graffiti translate to leadership skills?

While traditional team building focuses on 'bonding,' our leadership workshops focus on 'doing.' Graffiti acts as a high-stakes, fast-paced metaphor for project management. Under the pressure of a spray can, leaders must delegate, communicate clearly, and adapt to 'mistakes' (drips) in real-time. It’s an immersive experience that reveals authentic leadership styles far more effectively than a PowerPoint presentation.

What is the maximum group size for a Dortmund session?

We can accommodate groups of almost any size. For leadership training, we recommend smaller breakout teams of 5-10 people per wall to ensure everyone has a voice and a role in the creative process. If you have a large management tier of 50+ people, we simply scale up the number of artists and walls to keep the energy high and the learning personal.

What happens if we need to cancel or change our date?

We understand that corporate plans can change. One of the unique benefits of working with Graffitifun is our 'no upfront payment' policy—you pay after the workshop. Additionally, we have a large roster of backup artists in the Dortmund and North Rhine-Westphalia area. This means even if an artist falls ill, your leadership event is guaranteed to go ahead as planned.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti can over a flipchart? Because leadership is about making a mark and managing the 'flow'. Here is why our Dortmund sessions are the gold standard for management development:

Break down hierarchies: On the spray wall, everyone starts from scratch. It levels the playing field and encourages authentic connection. 🤝
Immediate feedback: Unlike a quarterly report, a spray can gives instant visual results—perfect for practicing agile leadership. 💪
Boosted morale: Taking your team out of the Westfalenhallen area and into a creative space creates lasting positive associations.
Tangible outcomes: You don't just leave with ideas; you leave with a massive, collaborative piece of art for your office. 🏆
Professional reliability: With backup artists always on call, your training won't be derailed by last-minute hitches.
Stress-free booking: No deposits, no stress. Focus on your team while we handle the logistics.

Step by step

The vision phase: Your session starts with a briefing where we translate your management goals into visual concepts.
Tool mastery: Leaders learn to handle the cans, mastering pressure, distance, and nozzle types—control is everything! 🎨
Strategic drafting: The group works together to sketch a large-scale concept on the wall or canvas, assigning roles and responsibilities.
Coordinated execution: This is where the magic happens. Leaders must coordinate their team to ensure the 'mural' comes together cohesively.
Crisis management: Graffiti is unpredictable. Our artists introduce 'creative challenges' that require quick thinking and team pivots.
The finishing touches: Teams add highlights and 'power lines' to their work, symbolising the final polish of a successful project.
Reflective debrief: We step back and analyse the work, discussing how the team's communication and leadership styles played out on the wall. 🏆

Local culture

Dortmund is a city that knows all about transformation—from the heavy coal and steel industries of the past to a modern hub of technology and culture. This spirit of 'reinvention' makes it the perfect backdrop for leadership development. Whether we are setting up near the iconic U-Tower or exploring the urban canvases of the Union Quarter, the local street art scene is infused with the city's 'Malocher' (hard-working) ethic. 👷‍♂️

Fun Fact: Did you know Dortmund is home to the 'Dortmunder U', a former brewery that now serves as a massive centre for art and creativity? It’s a literal beacon for the city's artistic evolution!

Dortmund’s raw, industrial charm provides an inspiring atmosphere that encourages leaders to think outside the box and embrace the 'boldness' required in today's fast-moving business world.

Pricing

We believe in transparent pricing tailored to your specific leadership goals and group size. No two workshops are the same, so we offer a range of packages to suit your budget.

Estimated costs: €30 - €65 per person (depending on group size, location, and workshop duration).

Best of all? We operate on a no upfront payment basis—you only pay after the workshop is complete and your team is inspired! 💸
