Do we need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely! Most of our university workshop participants have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the basics, from how to hold the can to mastering pressure control. We provide a safe, supportive environment where the focus is on creativity and fun rather than perfection. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at the vibrant piece of art you've helped create. Everyone has an inner artist waiting to get out!

What materials are included in the university workshop?

We provide everything you need to get creative. This includes high-quality spray paint in a huge range of colours, protective overalls, gloves, and respiratory masks. We also provide the canvases or boards for your group to paint on. All you need to bring is your energy, some comfortable old clothes (just in case!), and your creative ideas. We handle the setup and the cleanup, so you can focus entirely on the art.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard university workshop in Dortmund typically lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the creation of a large-scale collaborative mural. If you have a specific schedule or a shorter window during a campus event, let us know – we can often adapt the format to fit your university's timetable perfectly.

Is the paint safe, and what safety measures are in place?

Safety is our absolute priority. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paints and provide all necessary safety equipment, including FFP2 or FFP3 masks and gloves. Our workshops are ideally held outdoors or in well-ventilated spaces. Our instructors are professional artists who are experienced in managing groups and ensuring everyone follows safety protocols while having a great time. We make sure the environment is as safe as it is inspiring.

Can you host the workshop directly on our campus?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop at a dedicated street art location in Dortmund, or we can bring the 'mobile graffiti wall' directly to your university campus. Bringing the event to your campus is a great way to build atmosphere and let other students see the creative process in action. Just let us know your preference, and we will handle the logistical arrangements to make it happen effortlessly.

Is this suitable for student team-building or freshers' week?

A graffiti workshop is one of the best ways to break the ice! Unlike traditional team-building, street art is inherently collaborative and non-hierarchical. Students have to communicate, share space, and merge their individual styles into one cohesive mural. It’s a fantastic way to build confidence, spark new friendships, and create a shared memory that lasts much longer than a standard lecture or social mixer. Plus, it's just really cool.

How do we book a workshop for our student group?

Booking is simple! Head over to our cost calculator to get an instant estimate, or use our contact form to request a custom quote. We don't require any upfront payment – you pay after the workshop is complete. Once we've agreed on a date, time, and location in Dortmund, our backup artist system ensures that your event will go ahead no matter what. Let’s get your university event on the calendar!

Epic Stress Relief: Shake off the exam stress with some high-energy, tactile creativity.
Total Inclusivity: You don't need to be an "art student" to be good at this—graffiti is for everyone!
Campus Branding: Create a mural that represents your club, faculty, or university spirit.
Pro Artist Guidance: Learn from real street artists who know the Dortmund scene inside out.
Zero Risk: With our backup artist guarantee and "pay later" policy, your event is in safe hands.
The Ultimate Social: Boost your social media with the most colourful photos you’ve ever taken on campus. 📸

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: Meet your pro artist and get kitted out in protective gear. We start with a quick safety briefing to keep everyone happy and healthy.
The Basics: Learn about different 'caps' (nozzles) and how they change your spray pattern. It’s all about the finger pressure!
Sketching Your Vision: Grab some paper or go straight to the wall to outline your ideas. Whether it's your faculty logo or a wild style piece, the plan starts here.
First Lines: Take the can and make your first 'tag'. Practice control by drawing lines, dots, and basic shapes on your canvas.
Filling In: Time to bring the colour! Learn how to fill large areas smoothly and how to blend different shades for a professional look.
Outlining & Highlights: This is where the magic happens. Use high-contrast colours to make your design pop and add 'shines' to give it 3D depth.
The Masterpiece: Work together as a group to connect your individual pieces into one giant, cohesive university mural.
Photo Ops & Final Touches: Step back and admire the work! Grab some group photos with your creation before we handle the cleanup.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Dortmund is a city that wears its heart on its sleeve—and its art on its walls. From the industrial heritage of the Union-Viertel to the modern vibes around the U-Tower, street art is woven into the city's DNA. It’s a place where the grey of the coal and steel past meets the neon of a creative future. When we host a workshop here, we tap into that local "Westpott" energy—honest, hardworking, and incredibly creative. 🎨

Fun Fact: Dortmund is home to some of the most impressive legal graffiti walls in the Ruhr area, particularly around the Dortmund U, where international artists and locals alike contribute to a constantly evolving urban gallery.
