Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely not! This training is designed for educators of all artistic levels. Whether you are a seasoned fine arts teacher or a classroom teacher looking for new engagement tools, our professional graffiti artists will guide you through the basics of can control, lettering, and safety. We focus on teaching you the methodology so you can confidently pass those skills on to your students in Dessie.

What materials are included in the professional development package?

Dessie art teachers will receive a comprehensive toolkit including high-quality, low-odor spray cans, protective gloves, masks, and practice boards. We also provide digital resources and lesson plan templates that align with modern creative curriculums. You just need to show up in clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on, and we handle all the logistics and cleanup!

How do you handle health and safety during the workshop?

Safety is our number one priority. We teach educators about proper ventilation, the importance of high-quality respirators, and how to set up 'safe zones' for students. We also discuss the legal aspects of street art to ensure your school projects remain ethical and community-positive. You’ll leave the session feeling confident about managing a spray paint environment safely.

Is this training affordable for local Dessie schools?

We understand that school budgets can be tight. Our 'Train the Trainer' model is actually a cost-saving investment. By training your internal staff, you eliminate the need to hire outside contractors for future murals or art projects. Additionally, our pricing in Dessie is tiered: the larger your group of teachers, the lower the cost per person.

How long does the training last and what is the schedule?

The workshop typically lasts between 2 and 4 hours, depending on your goals. We can split it into a morning theory and safety session followed by an afternoon practical mural session. We are very flexible and can schedule these during teacher development days or even over a weekend to fit the Dessie academic calendar.

Can this training help with school mural projects?

Yes! Graffiti is a powerful tool for teaching teamwork, spatial awareness, and social justice. We show you how to link street art to history, literature, and even geometry. Many teachers use these skills to revitalize dull school walls through student-led mural projects, which fosters a huge sense of school pride and belonging.

How do I book a session for my department?

Booking is simple and risk-free. You can use our online Cost Calculator to get an instant estimate for your group in Dessie. Because we believe in our quality, there is no upfront payment required—you only pay after the workshop is completed. We also have backup artists ready to go, so your training will never be canceled!

Local culture

Dessie, the "Bolo" city, is a place of incredible mountain views and a deep sense of community. Nestled in the Wollo highlands, the city has a unique vibe that blends traditional Ethiopian culture with a growing modern energy. We believe that bringing graffiti art to Dessie helps bridge the gap between historical heritage and contemporary expression. While you might see local murals near the Wollo University area, there is so much untapped potential for structured street art programs in local schools.

Fun Fact: Did you know Dessie is known for its strategic "gateway" location between the highlands and the plains? This makes it a perfect hub for creative movements to spread throughout the region! 🏔️🔥
