Where exactly in Dessie do the workshops take place?

Our secondary school graffiti workshops in Dessie are fully mobile. We usually come to your school campus to paint on temporary wooden walls we set up, or even your school's own designated walls if permitted. This makes it super easy for teachers and students as there is no travel involved. If you prefer an off-site experience at a creative hub in town, just let us know and we can arrange a cool local spot!

Is it safe for secondary school students to use spray cans?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls for every student. Our spray paints are professional-grade but used under strict supervision by our expert artists. We also ensure the workspace is well-ventilated. Parents and teachers can rest easy knowing the students are in professional hands while they explore their creative side and learn new artistic skills.

How long does a typical workshop last?

A typical session for Dessie secondary schools lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a safety demo, practice sessions, and the creation of a final masterpiece. We are flexible, though! If you have a specific school schedule or a double-period block you need to fit into, we can tailor the timing to match your school day perfectly.

Do students need to have prior drawing or painting skills?

No previous art experience is required at all! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from the next Picasso to those who have never held a pencil. Our Dessie-based artists guide the students through every step, starting with basic lines and moving to advanced shading and 'pieces.' It’s all about boosting confidence, having fun, and expressing individuality through a medium that is exciting and modern.

How does the payment process work for schools?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'play now, pay later' approach. We don't require any upfront deposits or pre-payments for school bookings in Dessie. You only pay after the workshop is completed and you are 100% satisfied with the experience. This makes the administrative process much easier for schools and ensures we are always motivated to provide the absolute best creative event possible.

Do we need to buy our own spray cans or paint?

We’ve got it all covered! Graffitifun provides everything needed for a successful day: professional spray cans in a rainbow of colors, caps (nozzles), protective clothing, and the surfaces to paint on. We even bring plastic sheeting to protect the ground. The only thing your Dessie school needs to provide is a group of enthusiastic students and a space to work. We handle the setup, the fun, and the cleanup afterwards!

Local culture

Dessie, the "Milli" of the Highlands, is a city with a pulse like no other. Nestled between the mountains, it's a place where tradition meets a fast-growing youth culture. We love bringing our workshops here because Dessie students have a unique perspective on life, influenced by both the rich history of the Wollo province and the modern Ethiopian vibe. Street art is the perfect medium for this mix! 🏙️

Fun Fact: Did you know Dessie was historically a major crossroads for trade? Just like the city connects different regions, graffiti connects different styles and ideas. Our workshops allow students to add their own modern chapter to Dessie's storied history! 🎨
