What exactly is a live painting performance?

Live painting is a dynamic performance where our artist creates a large-scale graffiti piece or mural right in front of your guests. It’s perfect for events in Dessie because it provides continuous entertainment and a stunning visual result. Unlike a finished painting, the process itself is the show, sparkng conversations and giving people a reason to stop and watch as the colors come to life.

How long does a live painting session last?

Depending on your event's scope, a performance usually lasts between 2 to 5 hours. We can adjust the pace to match your schedule—whether you want a fast, high-energy blast or a slow, detailed masterpiece that unfolds throughout an entire evening. We always arrive early in Dessie to set up so that the first spray of paint coincides perfectly with your guests' arrival.

Is it safe to do live graffiti painting indoors in Dessie?

Safety is a huge priority for us! We use high-quality, low-odor professional spray paint and can set up specialized ventilation if we are indoors. We also use protective floor coverings and screens to ensure that no 'overspray' touches your venue's walls or furniture. Our artists are pros at keeping the art on the canvas and the vibe clean and safe for everyone.

Can we choose what the artist paints?

Absolutely! We love it when the art reflects the host's vision. Whether you want to incorporate your company logo, specific brand colors, or a theme that celebrates the culture of the Amhara Region, we’ve got you covered. We’ll discuss the design with you beforehand to ensure the final piece is exactly what you imagined for your Dessie event.

What materials do you provide for the performance?

We bring everything needed for the masterpiece! This includes the professional spray cans, caps, protective gear, drop cloths, and the 'wall' (usually a large wooden panel or stretched canvas). You just provide the space and the audience. After the event, the artwork is yours to keep—it makes for a fantastic permanent installation in an office or a cool souvenir from a party.

What happens if it rains or there is a scheduling conflict?

Dessie weather can be unpredictable, so for outdoor events, we recommend a covered area or a tent. If the weather gets too rough, we can usually move the setup indoors. Because we have a team of backup artists available, you never have to worry about a cancellation—if your assigned artist is ill, we’ll send another pro to make sure the show goes on!

Local culture

Dessie, the "Bolo" of the north, is a city famous for its dramatic hills and its role as a vibrant crossroads of culture. From the bustling markets to the scenic overlooks, there is a natural rhythm here that we love to translate into street art. While traditional art has deep roots in the Amhara region, bringing modern graffiti live painting to Dessie offers a fresh, contemporary twist that resonates with the city's youthful and evolving energy.

Fun Fact: Did you know Dessie's name translates to "My Joy" in Amharic? We aim to bring that exact feeling to every event through the bright pops of color and dynamic motion of our live graffiti sessions!

Whether your event is near the Wollo Culture House or a modern venue overlooking the mountains, we bring a professional touch that respects local traditions while pushing creative boundaries. Let's showcase the modern side of Dessie together! ✨
