Do you provide a studio for the workshop in Leon?

While most of our secondary school graffiti workshops in Leon take place at the school grounds or a local park, we can definitely look into providing a professional studio space if your school lacks a suitable outdoor area. We bring all the protective floor coverings and ventilation advice needed to make any space work, but there is nothing quite like the vibe of an authentic urban art studio to get those creative juices flowing.

Is the spray paint safe for students to use?

Absolutely. Safety is our biggest priority, especially when working with secondary school students. We provide high quality FFP2 or FFP3 respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to ensure no paint gets on clothes or is inhaled. Our instructors are professional artists who have years of experience managing large groups of teenagers, ensuring that the environment remains fun, controlled, and completely safe for everyone involved.

How long does a typical school workshop last?

Most sessions for secondary schools in Leon last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time to cover the history of street art, practice basic can control, and complete a final collaborative mural or individual canvases. If you have a specific school timetable to stick to, we are very flexible and can condense the experience into a 90 minute 'express' session or expand it into a full day art retreat.

Do we need to pay anything before the workshop starts?

We do not require any upfront payment or deposits to secure your booking in Leon. At Graffitifun, we believe in the quality of our service, so you only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. This makes the administration process much easier for schools and departments, as we can send an invoice directly to your accounts office once the students have finished their masterpieces.

Do students need to have any prior drawing skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from the student who has never picked up a pen to the budding Da Vinci. Our instructors break down the process into simple, manageable steps. We focus on 'wildstyle' and 'lettering' techniques that allow every student to create something they can be proud of, regardless of their previous experience with traditional fine arts or drawing.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

If it rains in Leon, we usually recommend moving the workshop to a covered outdoor area or a well ventilated indoor hall. We bring plenty of protective plastic sheeting to cover floors and walls. Because we have a large team of backup artists available, we are also very flexible with rescheduling if the weather looks particularly bad, ensuring your school event goes ahead without a hitch.

The experience

Why settle for a standard art lesson when you can give your students a world class creative experience? Our workshops are designed to be high energy, inclusive, and incredibly rewarding for secondary school ages. Here is why schools in Leon love working with us:

Boosts confidence: Seeing a massive mural come to life gives students a huge sense of achievement and pride in their work. 🎤
Team building: Students have to communicate and collaborate to ensure their individual pieces fit into the larger group design.
Professional artists: Our instructors are real world street artists, not just teachers, giving students an authentic look at creative careers.
Zero stress for teachers: We handle everything from the setup and safety gear to the final cleanup—you just sit back and watch them create! 🏆
No upfront costs: We trust the quality of our workshops, so you only pay once the session is finished and everyone is happy.
Customisable themes: We can link the workshop to current curriculum topics, school anniversaries, or local community issues.

Step by step

Introduction and safety talk: We kick things off with a quick chat about the history of graffiti and a very important safety briefing regarding the equipment.
Design brainstorming: Students work together to pick a theme, a 'crew name', or a concept for their mural that represents their school values or local Leon pride.
Mastering the nozzle: Our artists demonstrate 'can control' techniques, showing students how to create thin lines, fat fills, and smooth gradients.
Sketching the outline: Using light colours, the students map out their design on the wall or canvas, getting the proportions just right before the real colour begins.
Filling and fading: This is the fun part! Students use a variety of spray colours to fill in their shapes and experiment with blending techniques.
The power of the outline: We teach the students how to add a sharp 'powerline' around their letters to make the artwork pop and look professional.
Adding details and highlights: The final touches include adding shines, bubbles, or 3D effects to give the piece depth and character.
Group photo and cleanup: We celebrate the finished masterpiece with a big group photo before packing up our gear and leaving the site spotless.

Local culture

Leon is a city with a soul built on craftsmanship and industry, but its walls tell a different story. Beyond the famous leather markets, the urban landscape of Leon has become a thriving canvas for local muralists and street artists. The city perfectly blends traditional Mexican culture with a modern, edgy vibe that resonates with secondary school students. Our workshops tap into this local energy, encouraging teenagers to look at their city with fresh eyes. ✨

Fun fact: Did you know that Leon is host to some of the most impressive large scale murals in the state of Guanajuato? Local 'Leon Graff' initiatives have helped turn the city into a legitimate outdoor gallery. Our workshops give your students the chance to join that local tradition of public art, proving that creativity doesn't just belong in a gold frame, it belongs on the streets! 🔥

Pricing

We believe every school project is unique, so we don't have a one size fits all price list. Prices depend on group size, the length of the session, and whether you want a permanent mural or individual canvases for students to take home. We offer competitive rates for educational institutions in Leon and the wider region. 🏆
