How long does a typical youth graffiti workshop last in Xi'an?

Our youth workshops usually run for about 2 to 3 hours. This gives the group plenty of time to learn the basic spray techniques, practice their lettering, and then work together on a large-scale mural. It’s the perfect duration to keep the energy levels high and the creativity flowing without anyone getting tired out! We can also adjust the timing to fit into your specific youth programme or school schedule.

Do the kids need to have any previous drawing or painting skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our professional street artists guide the youth every step of the way, from holding the can correctly to mastering complex shading. We focus on 'learning by doing', so even those who think they aren't 'artistic' usually end up being the ones most surprised by their own awesome creations by the end of the session.

Is it safe for teenagers and children to use spray paint?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks, to ensure a safe environment. We also use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier for younger participants to control. Our artists are experienced in managing groups and keep a close eye on everything to make sure the spray stays on the wall and everyone stays happy and healthy!

Where in Xi'an do these graffiti workshops take place?

We are all about flexibility! We can host the workshop at a cool outdoor 'hall of fame' location in Xi'an, or we can bring the entire setup to your youth centre, school, or community space. If we're coming to you, we use mobile wooden walls or large plastic canvases to ensure the local surroundings stay clean while the kids get to express themselves freely.

What do the participants get to keep after the session?

The youth get to take home any individual canvases they’ve worked on! For larger group murals, these usually remain as a lasting legacy at your venue or can be documented with high-quality photos. We also encourage them to use our online Tag Creator before the workshop so they can print out their designs and have a physical reference of their progress from digital sketch to street art reality.

Can you host workshops for youth groups outside of the city centre?

Absolutely! We love traveling across Shaanxi and beyond. While Xi'an is our hub, we can easily set up workshops in Beijing, Shanghai, or other nearby areas. Just let us know your location when you request a quote, and we will handle the logistics. We have a solid team of backup artists as well, so your event is guaranteed to happen regardless of the location.

What should the participants wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing 'old clothes' that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. While we provide protective overalls and gloves, graffiti can occasionally get messy when the creativity starts flying! Closed-toe shoes are also a must for safety and comfort. We provide all the professional art supplies, so you just need to bring your enthusiasm and some comfortable clothes you can move in.

Local culture

Xi'an is a city where 3,000 years of history meet a buzzing, modern youth culture. While famous for its Terracotta Warriors, the city’s creative pulse is found in places like the Textile City Art District (Dahua 1935), where industrial history serves as the perfect backdrop for contemporary expression. Our workshops tap into this unique Xianese energy, encouraging the youth to mix traditional motifs with modern street styles. 🎨

Fun fact: Did you know that Xi'an's City Wall is one of the oldest and best-preserved in the world? We love teaching the local youth how to respect historical heritage while adding their own modern 'digital' layer through the art of graffiti! 🏰
